The Yangqin is an Asian variant of the Hammered Dulcimer Family.
With a unique and characterful sound, born largely to the use of Bamboo Hammers which create an enchanting and distinctive texture. With soft (leather coated), hard (bare wood) and plucked options. Another unique texture Bamboo Hammers can create is a ricochet, or 'bouncing', effect due to their flexibility in comparison to other Hammers from various parts of the world.
This instrument has meticulously and authentically captured this wonderful gem with all playing styles recorded in deep detail. With a huge 8 round robins per note, across 4 unique velocity layers. Giving each and every note a possible 32 variations per hammer style. With that number growing to 96 unique strikes per note when considering all hammer styles recorded.
This instrument is perfect for injecting some Asian folk inspired textures into your writing, and will sit quite happily alongside a variety of ensembles.

I’ve already got this sound in a track. Still learning how to add nuance to the performances, but even without that, the sampling is great. Well done!
