Odeon Chamber Strings was recorded in a spacious 2,000 sq ft room, capturing the grandeur and depth of a true orchestral environment. Embracing the classic orchestral layout, every section was positioned in their traditional stage placements, allowing for natural ensemble interaction and spatial realism. A rich array of microphones—including the iconic Decca Tree, outriggers, close, and ambient mics—were meticulously arranged to deliver a flexible, mix-ready sound that feels both cinematic and alive. Whether you're after wide, lush textures or intimate detail, this setup brings you the full spectrum of orchestral depth right out of the box.

Extremely playable and fits into any mix easily

It's was either Odeon Strings or Fluffy's Venice Strings (on sale just now), I had money to spend for tax year, and i really do not need any more strings but finding a plugin that is instantly playable, for live playing, is tough!
Odeon strings sounds lovely, fits into a mix easily, mixes well with other string plugins and is just instantly playable with great results, which is what i want. Lovely stuff, and I used my Loyalty code as well, which Insanity Samples do regularly for regular customers. I have a lot of their products and wish that they would find a good old Lowrey with a Leslie and sample.
Great products, great videos and demos and they are British! Tally ho old chaps!

    Bravo !

From the demo videos - I close my eyes and see the players arranged before me ....
I can see them as they create the most realistic and beautiful music that plays in my mind's ear - I am engulfed !

One can only imagine what the old Masters could have composed had this technology been available to them....

A MUST for any composer whose creativity needs wings !

    Impression: Excellent

I have to say that this library is really easy to work with. I'm not having to do much midi-maneuvering, and I'm still pretty over-the-top about the dynamic range for a chamber strings library. I can't get enough oomph out of other chamber strings I own when I want a little more power without layering.

In my opinion, the detail of the smaller ensemble + the larger dynamic range is unique in regards to the other options out there. It certainly lives up to its name as a chamber strings library that can excel in modern filmic use from small and intimate to a bolder, action-oriented sound. I highly recommend this library.

A beautiful, useful, high-quality library that could benefit from expanded legato options

Like Temme, I'm already a big fan of Insanity Samples. I wasn't in the market for a chamber strings library, but the demos and walkthrough videos won me over.

I love the sound, the depth of functionality and the ease of use. I find myself constantly writing little noodles just to experiment with it. The dynamics and vibrato are a particular highlight.

I knew before buying it that the library didn't have portamento and glissando options on legato, but I do wish it had something along those lines. I'd love to hear this same sound, but with some added options in legato.

I'd also note that the spiccato articulation here is much gentler than in Insanity's Neo Strings solo strings library. You can definitely get punch in other ways with Odeon, especially given the smooth, expansive dynamics, but it is worth noting.

Overall, I'm very, very pleased. This is an excellent library, and if Insanity Samples continues on their current trajectory, it's only going to get better with time.
