The Cello One is an expressive, performance-focused solo cello for Kontakt and the first instrument in the Expressive Solo series. It was designed around musical playability, using our Overlay Threshold approach to shape dynamics and articulation transitions in real time.
The instrument centres on a focused set of core articulations chosen for expressive writing, prioritising playability and musical response — including lyrical sustained tones, controlled short bow articulations, and performance trills. Each articulation is recorded and programmed to respond naturally to dynamics, allowing phrasing and movement to emerge from playing rather than sequencing.
Cello One was conceived as a focused solo voice suitable for a wide range of musical contexts. It forms the foundation of the Expressive Solo series, later joined by Violin One and Viola One, with all instruments designed to work together while remaining musically independent.
Important Note: CELLO ONE Volume 2 requires the FULL version of Kontakt 5/6/7 or above. Do not purchase this if you only have Kontakt Player.
